At Newman’s PAWsitive Pups, my core belief is that a stronger bond and clear communication forge a happier, healthier relationship between you and your dog. No matter your dog’s age or breed, anyone can learn with the right helpful guidance and proven methods.

I specialize in positive reinforcement training, turning your dog’s natural desire to learn into a fun and rewarding experience. Throughout the training sessions I teach your dog to want to work with you—creating a strong, trust-based connection for the whole family.

About Me:

With a Bachelor’s in Natural Science (Zoology) from Colorado State University, I began my professional journey as a Vet Assistant at Knoxville Veterinary Clinic.

My dog training experience spans 20+ years in both the United States and England. Working at renowned Veterinary Centers, and Europe’s leading veterinary hospital (Willows Veterinary Center) where I continued to hone my behavior training expertise teaching puppy socialization and obedience classes alongside 1-on-1 training.

Certified through England’s leading Absolute Dogs Pro Trainer Course, I can adapt best practice to drive the results you are looking for.

I’m excited to share my passion and knowledge through either in-person or virtual sessions helping owners and their pups create unbreakable bonds that last a lifetime.

“My husband and I work with a lot of dog rescues so naturally, we end up having quite a few of our own. When we rescued our fifth pup we noticed that there was a need for some help with obedience as our five dogs took on a pack mentality. Truth be told the littlest terrier spiced them up - ha ha. Meri came to our home to help us work on basics commands. With her help she assisted us in activities to work on their hyper reactiveness when guests come in our home or near our home. She taught us tricks for safe walking and how to redirect our pups if there is a stimulus and we want to recapture their attention. Meri was patient, kind and fun! She workd so beautifully with our pups and with hard work to reinforce her teachings we have seen progress!
